Summary of my entire journey for the year 2019:
Note : Sorry for long write up please take time and read and provide feedback .please bare my English and writing skills 😅.
Year 2019 , Trip to Himalayas started by rushing to airport by quick finish of office tasks and got my flight to Delhi and had over night bus to Manali on same day .Reached Manali on next around 12 Noon .Immediately got into bus to reach Keylong .Reached Keylong on 15th August and Got early morning bus to Leh and got down at Sarchu on 16th Aug.
From here my Himalayas journey started on these mighty Himalayas :)
Packed very minimal things which are required to help on those climates like Rain gears, cold wear, trail shoes ,Sleeping gear and Food for backup for couple of days .

Landing from City like Chennai (0 mts altitude ) to directly at Sarchu (4300 mts altitude) gave me first experience of AMS ( Acute mountain sickness ).
With heavy head (AMS) and low oxygen levels in blood started my journey to Tsarap river valley along with 3 more friends with loaded back packs with food for next 5 days .
Started Trekking towards SATOK Village (LAT,LONG : 33.194303, 77.438260) which is 30KM from Ghata loops and stayed in abandoned houses of SATOK village which abandoned from past 100 years as per locals information.
It started raining heavily in night and all mountains got snow covers by morning ,here e have to take decision to call it off the plan and go back to Sarchu as the further river crossings might be hazardous because of rains last night .
So we started moving back to Sarchu walked 18KM on Day -2 walking with AMS is really made the trek difficult and camped at Marang la base camp and reached Sarchu village on next day It took 3 days to reach SATOK village.Still AMS is struggling so decided to go down to 3000 mts altitude and moved to Keylong. Because of Heavy rains Manali-Leh Highway is closed for 2 days due to plenty of land slides on the way BRO (boarder road organization) is on the way clearing all road blocks and opened the road on next day .We got hitch ride by truck guys dropped us from sarchu to key long and these guys drives perfectly on those kind of roads with out sweat .
Here is the sample pictures of trail we walked all the way to Satok village which goes ups and downs between 4000 mts altitude to 4500 mts altitude .
Here are the scenes of camping inside those abandoned houses after heavy down pour in night some how we got survived from cold and rain because of these houses.
We reached Keylong and planned for Pangi valley treks but cancelled due to floods in lower himalayas .So decided to hike to Rachgali pass (4400 mts ) and got down other side of the mountain at Gondhla village .Rachgali pass has stuning views of Shikar Beh peak with snow caps under blue sky .
Moved to koksar village for night stay which is just below the Rohtang pass ,took early morning bus to manali but due to rains on previous day roads are still under bad conditions so got down on top of rohtang pass and trekked down to Solang valley by skipping all the hair pin bends via beautiful pine forest trails .And moved to Dhundi and stayed on grass meadows for night under rain .
We started our day under drizzle and moved towards Beas kund met some buffellows grazing below the beas kund and those guys fed us with pure milk and warm hospitality .by evening we reached beas kund ( 3600 mts ) which is hidden paradaise and completely away from human intervention . we found shepherd and stayed with them and enjoyed their hospitality and next day we started hike to Shitidhar peak from beas kund and we went till 4900mts altitude just 300mts near to peak but due to heavy snow we returned back to base by afternoon,we had a stunning views of Hanuman tibba (5900 mts ) and rushed back to manali by evening and settled down for night .
On 27th Aug we took early morning bus to Pangan near manali and started hiking towards kaliheni but it is very long walk towards the pass so by evening we ended around 3600mts altitude at some leftover shepherd hut and had a tight sleep and got ready for next day hike which is pass crossing day team got splitted up due to rain all the way have to cross the pass solo and catch up those guys after 5km after the pass. This kaliheni glacier is the longest glacier i walked till now,Luckiliy some Horses crossed the pass before me and those make nice easy way to cross the glacier i got effected by the snow glaze due to sun couldn't able to watch mobile for directions also had faced a situation that i can able to see things only in Black/whilte for a while,i rushed down the pass and climbed down fro 4900 mts altitude to 3500mts altitude and caught up with the gang just before the sun set toughest day in my trek and took many hard decisions on crossing the glacier solo.Next day we walked almost 25 km on morrains to reach the end of Kaliheni pass trek Called BARA BANGAL .this village is the best village so far i visited .
Bara Bangal village :
Last village in Kangra distict ,situated just below the Hanuman tibba peak which is Birth place of RAVI river which flows all the way to Pakistan .this village is completely disconnects from the world Wooden houses,no mobiles,no power ,they grow their own food in the village ,drinks pure water and surrounded by huge mountains .And this village is having easy route to reach from chamba valley which is 20Km trail route to walk .This village is having government school which is having 18 students of multiple classes handled by only 3 teachers .I spent my half day at school by interacting with students and started to Thamsar pass.
