03. The Mighty 600 BRM -by Samanyu K

I had decided to do a 600 BRM  on a whim and registered only 4 days prior to the event. I was relatively an inexperienced rider (being only a few months into cycling) - with a 300km under my belt previously,hence  I knew I didn't have much time to improve my physical endurance so I decided to plan well and improve my mental endurance. Plan : I divided the entire ride into 4 segments of 150kms each. My plan was to  ride the first 150km in good speed with an average of >20km/hr- where the roads were gentle and the temperatures still mild( with intermediate breaks @ 63km, 111km and 150 km marks respectively). I knew that the first half of my second 150km segment would be a challenge with winds and the sun so i wanted to keep my cadence high and waited till the sun came down to reach the half way mark by 11 PM.I decided to catch some sleep at this point and use the night time to cover maximum distance before fatigue sets and reach the 400 mark. 02 2019-August-11 Independence day ride (73 KM)

Our  DOCS & Friends  fitness group has been celebrating our Independence day each year by cycling as many kilometers as the year of celebrating.  మేము మా "డాక్టర్స్ అండ్ ఫ్రెండ్స్అనే "గ్రూపు తరపున ఆరోగ్యపరమైన వ్యాయామ కలాపాల కార్యక్రమాలు  నిర్వహిస్తూ ఉంటాము. గత నాలుగేళ్లుగా ప్రతి స్వాతంత్ర దినోత్సవం నాడు  సైక్లింగ్ కార్యక్రమాన్ని నిర్వహిస్తున్నాము. మన 70వ భారతదేశ స్వతంత్ర దినం మొదలుకొని ప్రతి ఏడూ ఆ స్వతంత్ర దినం నాడు ఎన్నో  సంవత్సరం అయితే అన్ని కిలోమీటర్లు సైక్లింగ్ చేయడం అనేది ఒక ఆనవాయితీగా నడిపిస్తున్నాం   This year 6 of group members have cycled 73 Kilometers (as this is 73rd year of Independence). We did it on 11th, as it was sunday and a free day. And on 15th members may have to participate in official events. 01 DOCS & FRIENDS FITNESS GROUP

 Couple of years ago, in Guntur, we started a cycling club called 'DOCS' which stands for "Doctors on Cycles." The idea was for promoting fitness for all. We did a couple of cycling events which caught media attention. The idea that fitness activities practiced by doctors naturally promoted others to take up fitness activities. As the days progressed, some other professionals, students and business men were joining our routine rides. WhatsApp Group helped us to communicate and plan rides. We changed our group name to " "DOCS & Friends" Other fitness activities like running, swimming and gym workouts were being practiced and shared on WhatsApp  and Facebook pages. We do group rides, our members participate in national and international cycling events. Some our group members have done 100, 300, 600 and even 1200 kilometer cycling events.
